About the BandLarger than a combo. More intimate than a big band. Close Harmony - a nine piece jazz and swing band features your favorite "big band" sounds. Swinging standards, soft ballads, familiar hits from the 40's to the 90's. Close Harmony plays music ideal for listening or dancing, for private parties or concerts in the park. The band leader, Dr. David Skersick, was a San Juan Capistrano orthodontist who enjoys music as well as straightening teeth. Dr. Skersick formed Close Harmony in 1991, re-awakening his early life interest in playing the trumpet.
Featured musicians include professionals from southern Orange County. Close Harmony updates the memorable age of Swing, pulsing smoothly with mellow jazz styling and soft-rock ballads. Very danceable... very listenable. Instruments trade the solo spotlight back and forth... accompanied by a few well-chosen vocals... blending with the memorable rich sound of the big band. Listening to Close Harmony is "a moving experience". You simply can't keep your feet still!
